The Cledan Valley Year
Spring
We open for Easter, on Good Friday 02-04-10, so although there aren’t many leaves on the trees, there should be lambs in the fields and by late May our wild orchids start springing up all over the field.
This is an ideal time to visit us and shake off the Winter Blues.
We have seen Hares racing up and down the field next to the site in the spring, its all about keeping your eyes open!
Summer
We are hoping for a drier Summer than we had in 2007/8/9! By now all the trees will have greened up, there will be wildlife everywhere, and hopefully a little sunshine too, sitting outside your Tipi with a Barbie going and a cool glass in your hand, watching the smoke from an open fire spiral upwards towards Buzzards, or if your lucky, Red Kites circling over head has to be one of the best ways to unwind, which is what our breaks really offer – the chance to relax and take a step back from the hustle of everyday life.
Autumn
By now the leaves have turned from green to the fantastic array of reds and browns, with heather flowers starting to show through towards the end of August, and although the mornings are cooler, a hot shower in our rustic shower block will set you up for breakfast, and a chance to explore, the animal life seems more visible at this time of the year, Take a walk around our own path up to the top of our land, sit on our bench at the top of the hill and watch the rabbits darting in and out of the Gorse, or the birds flitting around collecting insects to take them through the Winter, look over to the moorland across from our little Valley.
If you are quiet, and lucky, at night you may even spot one of our resident Badgers! But we can’t guarantee that as they are wild animals and come and go as they please.
We will close at the end of September
Winter
Although we are closed to visitors, we still have a lot to do, cutting a plentiful supply of firewood, maintenance of Tipi's and our shower block, trying to implement any comments made to us during our season, and taking bookings for the next year
We have a few gentle improvements implemented too, we recommend booking early this year, as some weekends were fully booked way back in 2009, in some cases before the guests had left site....
We still have plenty of Tipi Breaks available though so contact Beth on
